Online Registration Timeline for 2026

There will be one registration window only this year: April 1 - May 1, 2026. There will be no late registration period. Registration impacts class placement, staffing, transportation, and support services. The online registration process can be completed from any computer or mobile device with access to the internet. Please be prepared to upload any health documents or action plans you may have. The health requirements for each grade are listed below.

 

Returning Students for the 2026-2027 School Year

Parents will register returning and preregistered students for the 2026-2027 school year through the Campus Parent Portal. Pre-registered kindergarten parents new to the district should look for an email with their Parent Portal information. If you are an existing family and do not have a parent portal login, please email [email protected]

 

Preregistration for the 2026-2027 School Year

The preregistration form for 2026-2027 is most often used during Kindergarten Preview or for students entering EHS that are new to the Effingham Unit 40 school district (such as parochial students or homeschooled students).  Please use the form 2025-2026 New to Effingham High School Unit 40 Students.

 

Non-Unit 40 Students Taking Classes at EHS

If you are not a Unit 40 student, but are taking any of the following classes at EHS in 2026-2027: CEO, Child and Daycare, CTEC, Driver's Education, Health Occupations, Manufacturing, or Welding, you must fill out a special registration form. Contact [email protected] to request the Non-Unit 40 Student registration form.

 

New/Transfer Students for the 2025-2026 School Year

If you are a new/transfer student to the district, or are a returning student who was not enrolled in the 2025-2026 school year, you will need to fill out the 2025-2026 New Student Registration Form

 

Transferring In to Unit 40

Complete the online registration including your previous school information and someone from Student Services will reach out to the previous school for your records

 

Transferring Out of Unit 40

Register at your new school and they will request student records from Effingham

Required Student Health Exams & Immunizations

If you do not have your completed health forms to upload during the registration window, you should still submit your registration application. You will be asked to provide a future date before the start of the 2026-2027 school year that you anticipate you will have the appointments completed and the documents ready. You can turn in your completed health forms Monday through Friday between 8am-4pm to the Board Office at 2803 South Banker Street, in Effingham.

 

PHYSICAL EXAM REQUIREMENTS:

Any out-of-state students attending Illinois schools for the first time must have a physical examination and proof of up-to-date immunizations prior to enrolling. For more information, visit our Student Health Services page.

 

Pre-K: school physical exam, immunization record, lead screen

 

Kindergarten: school physical exam, immunization record, lead screen, eye exam (completed by an optometrist or ophthalmologist) and dental exam

 

2nd grade: dental exam

 

6th grade: school physical exam (sports physicals do NOT count), immunization record, dental exam

 

9th grade: school physical exam (sports physicals do NOT count), dental exam

 

12th grade: immunization record

 

IMMUNIZATIONS:

Contact the Effingham County Health Department Vaccine Clinic with questions about immunizations; including which immunizations they offer and what methods of payment are accepted for each.  217.342.9237

 

Vaccination Schedule

Pre-K: Hep B, Hib, Pneumococcal, DTap, Polio, MMR, Varicella

 

Kindergarten: Hep B, DTap, Polio, MMR, Varicella

 

6th grade: Tdap and Meningococcal (1st dose)

 

12th grade: Meningococcal (2nd dose)

 

Forms and Documentation

Forms for the required student health exams and health action plans can be found on our Student Health Services page. During online registration, please be prepared to upload any health documents or action plans. If you upload your document by taking a picture on your mobile device, please ensure that all information is legible and visible in the picture. If we receive incomplete/unreadable documentation, you will be asked to re-upload.

Fees

Registration and Course Fees for all students grades K-12 will be available in the Campus Parent Portal the 2nd full week of school in August.  You will be able to pay for your registration fees in the Campus Parent Portal or at your school building. At EJHS and EHS, PE uniforms will be paid at the building level as directed by the PE department.

 

Schedules

Schedules will be available in the Campus Parent Portal in August before school starts.

 

Transportation

After the registration window closes on May 1, 2026, any bus changes should be submitted via email to Bryan West, Transportation Director, at [email protected] to ensure bussing on the first day of school. You will receive an email from the transportation department with your busing information in August before school starts.

 

Help

Registration can be completed from any computer with access to the web, as well as any mobile device with a browser. If you do not have access to a device with internet access, there are computers available at the Effingham Public Library.
