Last Friday’s School Improvement Day was a great opportunity for learning in our Transportation Department!
Our Transportation Director, Bryan West, kicked off the morning with bus evacuation procedures and how to respond in emergency situations. These important conversations help ensure our drivers are always prepared to keep students safe.
Unit 40 also welcomed special guest Chris Parr, Transportation Director from Mattoon Community Unit School District 2. Chris shared valuable insight on the importance of thorough pre-trip inspections, discussing what can happen if something is missed, as well as strategies for effective student management on the bus.
We’ve received great feedback from our drivers and staff, and it’s clear the day was a productive one. Thank you to Bryan and Chris for investing their time and expertise to help keep our students safe every day!
