The Illinois State Board of Education has partnered with the University of Chicago since the 2012-2013 school year to administer a school climate survey.
Schools across Illinois will again participate in the annual 5Essentials Survey during the months of February and March. This survey generates data that districts can use to guide their ongoing efforts to improve schools and to offer students an excellent education. The annual survey is another improvement tool that allows districts and the state to share data as a means to inform parents and community members about the school’s learning environment.
Teachers and students from 4th - 12th grades can complete a brief, research-based survey, and parents will be encouraged to participate in the optional parent survey during the same window. All responses are anonymous and confidential. Additional details will be shared as the exact dates become available for our district.
