hello Hearts Nation this is Andrew Johnson the proud superintendent of the Effingham unit 40 schools this morning I want to bring to your attention a new program that has started in our school district about a week week and a half ago and that is our after school program program uh for students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade and I'm here today because we've got a few weeks left in the in the school year and there is opportunity for your child to still get enrolled in that program and we really truly want and them to be taking advantage of this free program hi I'm Jessica Reeder principal at the end of the school day students stay at their own School grab a quick snack and some homework assistance whether you're big kid is prepping for a giant math test or just needs homework help we've got you covered then at 4:00 p.m. they hop on a school all of us and head to an age appropriate enrichment site for even more learning and fun kindergarten through second grade students go to Crossroads Church third through fifth graders head to Effingham Park District 6 through 8 grade students travel to the Lakeland College kuty Center and 9 through 12th graders go to the media center at the EHS library at each site they'll engage in activities designed just for their age group whether that's stem Arts leaders ship or career exploration we've even made going home easy too parents can pick up by 6:00 p.m. or students can ride the bus home using their regular bus route information this afterschool program is designed to support busy families give students a safe and enriching space after school and help everyone in the day on a strong note Mr Andrew assistant principal at fnm Junior High School and co-director of the after lots are feeling fast so wait enroll your child by this Friday April 11th and be part of something awesome
