SAVE THE DATE

On Thursday, September 16, 2021 the Effingham St. Anthony Booster Club and the Effingham Sportsbackers will work in cooperation with Koerner Distributor to host the 28th annual Carl P. Koerner Memorial Golf Spectacular

Mr. Carl Koerner, a long time sports enthusiast, initiated conversation about a way to help support both local high schools athletic programs. His vision has resulted in an athletic fundraiser that has successfully carried on for 28 consecutive years and has generated over $1,100,000 for our local athletic programs. The cooperative effort of the Koerner family, the St. Anthony Booster Club and the Effingham Sportsbackers epitomizes the importance of teamwork and the pride we have in our athletic programs.
Please mark your calendars and save the date. Your support of this event is greatly appreciated and will help the success of the Carl P. Koerner Memorial Golf Spectacular to continue into the distant future. Start now to assemble your team to participate in an enjoyable day of camaraderie and fun. The event will include a box lunch, 12:00 shotgun start, drinks including a bloody Mary bar, prizes, contests, steak dinner and an online auction.
YOU CAN STILL HELP IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND

Athletics has played an important role in the lives of many alumni from both St. Anthony and Effingham high schools. Athletics offers the student-athletes of Effingham many life lessons that carry forward into their futures. Lessons such as work ethic, dedication, commitment, cooperation, goal setting and determination shape the successes our alumni have seen. These lessons are very important in our adult lives and have influenced who we have become as adults.

We hope you can join us on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Effingham Country Club! But if you are unable to attend, you can still help by donating to our fundraiser. Contact Troy Greene at Koerner Distributor at 217-347-7113, Kevin Palmer at St. Anthony High
School at 217-342-2324 or David Woltman at Effingham High School at 217-540-1269 to share your donation. You can also reach out to any of the St. Anthony Booster Club or Effingham Sportsbacker officers.

Thank you for your support!
GO BULLDOGS!
GO HEARTS!

Sincerely,

Carl P. Koerner Sports Spectacular

The Andrew Gobczynski Big Heart Foundation (AGBHF) is joining with St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital to offer a free electrocardiogram (EKG) screening to high school-aged athletes. This painless and harmless test can screen for possible cardiac abnormalities. The EKG will be read by a pediatric cardiologist from SIU who specializes in cardiac disease in patients under the age of 18.
