Welcome to ParentSquare!
Effingham Unit 40 Schools is excited to introduce ParentSquare, our new district-wide communication platform.
ParentSquare brings all school communication together in one convenient place, making it easy for families to stay informed from preschool through high school. Whether you're receiving classroom updates, school newsletters, schedule changes from the coach, district announcements, or emergency notifications, ParentSquare helps ensure you never miss important information.
You can communicate directly with staff, view messages in your preferred language with automatic translation, receive photos, documents, and newsletters, and access communication for all of your children, from East Side Preschool to Effingham High School, with one account.
Activate Your Account
Getting started is simple:
- Watch for an invitation email or text from ParentSquare
- Click Activate Your Account
- Verify your name and contact information
- Create your password
- Download the ParentSquare mobile app (optional but recommended for the full range of participation)
- Begin receiving school communications!
If you do not activate your account, you will still receive emergency district messages by email or text using the contact information we have on file from School Registration. Activating your ParentSquare account simply unlocks additional features and allows you to customize your notification preferences.

The ParentSquare mobile app allows you to:
- Receive real-time notifications
- Send and receive messages
- View school posts
- Access information from all of your children's schools
- Manage your communication preferences
Notification Preferences
Choose between:
- Instant Notifications – Receive messages as they are posted
- Digest Notifications – Receive one summary message each evening around 6pm (recommended)
- Off – View messages only when you log into ParentSquare
Emergency and urgent messages will always be delivered immediately.
Multiple Students?
If you have children attending different schools within Unit 40, ParentSquare combines all of your students into a single account, making communication easier than ever. If your students participate in multiple sports and activities through the schools, those communications will also happen through ParentSquare.
Need to Update Your Contact Information?
ParentSquare uses the phone numbers and email addresses stored in the district's student information system, Infinite Campus. If your contact information has changed, please contact your child's school office so your records can be updated.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to download the app?
No. ParentSquare works on any computer through a web browser, and the mobile app is available for added convenience.
Will I still receive emails?
Yes. You may receive communications by email, text message, app notification, or all three, depending on your notification preferences.
Is ParentSquare available in other languages?
Yes. ParentSquare automatically translates messages into more than 100 languages. With 8% of our families preferring another language other than English, this is one of the best reasons for the district choosing ParentSquare.
What if I forget my password?
Use the Forgot Password option on the ParentSquare login page.
Can grandparents or additional family members receive messages?
Additional contacts may be able to receive communications if they are listed in your student's records. Email [email protected] for specific assistance.
What apps does ParentSquare replace?
Effingham Unit 40 Schools will no longer use Seesaw, Class Dojo, Band, Remind, and after the Fall season has ended, SportsYou. Athletic teams will still utilize the scheduling benefits of Eventlink, but team communication will go through ParentSquare.
We will continue to use Infinite Campus as our student information system for registration, grade books, lunch balances, and enrolling in specialty programs. MyRide K-12 is also being introduced in 2026 for bus routing and tracking communications.
